Basically, this is all I've done so far, and I can't seem to find a way to activate the add-in so it appears in my Outlook for Mac desktop app. That means the feature won’t go so far as to replace the more advanced email tracking solutions on the market, which tend to use sneakier tactics like tracking pixels in order to determine when messages are opened. I'm not sure if this means that Outlook for Mac is not supported because it's listed as a supported platform under the Outlook 365 add-in's Email Clients, so it should be supported. Microsoft notes, though, that email recipients can choose to decline to send read receipts. Also new to Outlook 2016 for Mac is support for delivery and read (opened) receipts when sending messages.
